GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for enhancing the image of Trinity Regional Health System and its affiliates by supporting the coordination of its marketing and public relations initiatives. Supervised work with a variety of staff members on public relations/media relations, events, community classes, internal and external publications, physician relations, and marketing research. Full-time preferred, but scheduling may be flexible. Temporary position. Small stipend available pending successful completion of internship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of some marketing or communications coursework preferred

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Good organizational skills
• Creativity & attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple projects at one time
• Strong written and verbal communication ability

JOB DUTIES:

• Assists with the research, writing and/or coordination of news releases, newsletter articles, public service messages, media appearances and interviews as necessary.

• Assists with the coordination of public relations/marketing initiatives designed to develop a positive internal and external image for Trinity Regional Health System.

• Assists with the implementation of various special events and functions with hospital personnel, volunteers, and Medical Staff.

• Maintains strict confidentiality of strategic planning and information.

• Participates in other tasks as directed by the Sr. Director of Corporate Communications.

• Documents and evaluates public relations initiatives coordinated.

• Assists with photography for newsletter and Web communication.

• Assists with marketing research for public relations/marketing initiatives.

• Some clerical duty (filing, answering telephones, inputting data)
